Become an ETCoach

Coach for trainer is defined in Competence Development System as a person with a career in training or in the didactical field and which guides through specific coaching trainers, teachers and other learning facilitators.
If you chose to become coach for trainers, please read the necessary steps for development.

CANDIDATE’S PROFILE:
Expertise in training and coaching

Experience for at least 3 years in both fields is critical.
Candidate’s experience will be revealed in the refrence forms elaborated in the system (see  Application Form for coaches).
Recognized moral profile
The candidate will have recognition from his colleagues, trainees or students and superiors.
Superior knowledge in creating and presenting the course materials
Knowledge about specific learning styles of the adults
Ability to motivate and actively involve trainees or students
Ability to build exercises, case studies, practical applications
Ability to evaluate individual performance of the trainee/student
Ability to build evaluation materials
capable to objectively measure the way trainees/students asimilated the notions and instruments of a course
Ability to dynamicaly and interactively present a course
Confidence in everyone’s ability to learn
Self-confidence
Impartiality
Confidentiality in specific limits
Focusing on participants’ development rather than on his own person

Relationship: builds a relationship based on respect and confidence in others
Empathy: capacity to understand the others, to identify himself with the others’ needs and to help them to understand one another
Ability to change behaviour: knowledge about personality psychology; inspiring courage and determination in person’s development
Effective communication: knows how to listen, to encourage the others to speak, is a good speaker, can express himself clearly and effectively
Strategic thinking: capacity to establish SMART objectives, to define action plans and specific tactics; he’s flexible about others’ needs.
ICT Skills: it’s obvious that for an on-line coaching service, it’s necessary the coach must have a high level of ICT skills

SELECTION STEPS:

1. Application Form

After you registered as a user in etcoaching service, acces the application: apply for coach. Fill in the Application Form following the instrunctions. After that, you must wait the validation message from the Master Coach, through e-mail.

2. Refrence letters
The refrence letters can be downloaded directly from the Application Form and can be saved in personal computer as document. Refrence letters will be filled in by an university professor and one of the work superior. Two refrence letters are mandatory. The refrence letters must be sent in maximum 14 days from the transmision of the Application Form.

3. Training in ETCoaching
After the validation of the Application Form, the candidates can acces the online courses for free. Only after the finalization of the online courses and after the final examination, candidates can become coaches.
The online courses are structured so that can offer the posibility to train the candidates in the Competence Development System in ETCoaching. The courses can be ran through in 10 days and can be accesed from anywhere and at any time. Furthermore, the candidates have acces to a chat with the Master Coach, through which can clarify any questions.
After completing the courses, the candidate will fill in an online evaluation questionnaire of his knowledge in etcoaching.

4. The final examination
The final examination consists of an interview through videoconference between the candidate and the Admision Commitee (formed of the reprezentatives of the 7 participating countries). The interview will take place through videoconference at a date establish afterwards.
After Application Form’s and refrence letters’ validation, the candidate will fill in the heading Full CV. This is, in fact, the presentation that will apear in the European Coaches Directory and that will be published for all trainers that will acces the etcoaching service.

At the end of the selection and training period, the candidates will receive the graduation diploma in the Competence Development System in etcoaching.
